The Eco-anxiety Africa Project

The Eco-Anxiety Africa Project (TEAP) is an independent program of SustyVibes, founded to understand and address the mental health impacts of climate change and environmental degradation on young Africans. TEAP has pioneered climate and mental health work on the continent through research, advocacy, and innovative community-based solutions such as the Zen Café.

HumansofOgoni

HumansofOgoni

In 2017, Ebenezar Wikina and I started a photodocumentary project called HumansofOgoni aimed at capturing the everyday lives of Ogoni residents during the proposed Ogoni clean-up project. We visited Ogoni and met with a couple of stakeholders to discuss the project. Although we never published our images, the idea evolved into the Street Dreams Project by SustyVibes, which trained 10 young women in the NigerDelta to become photographers.

MamaJe

MamaJe

MaMaje was conceptualized by Maria Malo Malo (feminist), Mahlet Alamayehu (medical doctor), and Jennifer Uchendu (environmentalist) following their participation in the Mandela Washington Fellowship. The initiative advanced awareness at the intersection of women's sexual and reproductive health rights and climate change, culminating in a 2018 workshop in Abuja.

Our Book Club

Our Book Club

Our Book Club was a space for introverted, high-performing women who loved reading and thoughtful conversation. Born from shared experiences of life in Nigeria, it offered rest, prayer, and sisterhood. The club closed in 2023, but inspired the birth of Pages of Conversation, a Canadian based bookclub for women.
