My middle name is Olachi, which means 'God's jewel.' I consider myself one of God's masterpieces and strive to take up space accordingly. My life's journey has continually prepared me to share more about living a life of purpose. I do not take the privilege of being a changemaker for granted — in fact, it has been one of the greatest honors of my life to work at the forefront of planetary health.
I am a wife, mum, daughter, sister, and best friend. As the first of four children, I learned the importance of family early on. I am married to the talented Bernard Kalu, a documentary photographer who covers social and environmental issues. Together, we are passionate about living out God's purpose in our world. In 2024, I miraculously beat Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and welcomed our first child while living in the Netherlands.

After years of climate activism, my own experience of overwhelming eco-emotions led me into research. My work on eco-anxiety in young people, particularly across Africa, has contributed to the growing body of literature on climate-related distress and deepened our understanding of the intersections between environmental challenges and wellbeing.
I use storytelling, research, and lived experience to spark courageous conversations about climate resilience and youth mental health. My goal is simple: to help audiences slow down, reflect deeply, and rise stronger together.

I serve on the boards of eight organizations, contributing to strategy development, governance, and resilience-centered initiatives. I bring a founder's perspective to the table, supporting sustainable growth, thoughtful partnerships, and mission-aligned decision-making.
Ten years ago, I took a leap of faith and founded SustyVibes, a youth-led movement advancing sustainability and climate action. What began as a small idea has grown beyond my imagination, engaging over 800 volunteers and expanding operations across the UK, US, Nigeria, and other African countries. I remain deeply proud of the work we do to strengthen youth climate resilience and leadership. see more projects
